Company Member Code of Ethics

These are the principles that we, the members of AOLP, shall abide by:
  • We shall exemplify the qualities of professionalism, integrity, and excellence in servicing our clients in the outdoor lighting industry.
  • We shall encourage and participate in education and research within our industry.
  • We shall understand and obey the laws governing our profession.
  • We shall apply the AOLP Standards of Low Voltage Landscape and Architectural Lighting and NEC Standards for line voltage in our business endeavors and shall strive to promote these standards in the Industry.
  • We shall not mislead, through advertising or other means, existing or prospective clients about the results that can be achieved through the use of our services, nor shall we state that we can achieve results by means that violate this code, the AOLP By-Laws, or any governmental law and/or regulation.
  • We shall promote creativity throughout the profession of outdoor lighting.
  • We shall promote diversity by not conducting or participating in any employment practices or professional activities that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or sexual orientation.
  • We shall continually strive, at all times, to protect our environment and to promote the betterment of the outdoor lighting industry through our dedication to honest and proper business practices.
  • We shall, as a member of AOLP, conduct ourselves in a professional manner by placing the association’s goals first when participating in any sponsored activities.
  • We shall advance the professionalism of the AOLP by refraining from making disparaging statements or otherwise criticizing colleagues or the AOLP in any public forum

Use of Logo- Terms & Conditions

AOLP members are permitted to indicate that they are members of the AOLP in their advertising and other materials. Use of logo is permitted to members in good standing provided the logo has been approved by the AOLP. The AOLP Executive Board may establish or change the terms and conditions for the use of the AOLP logo / name at any time. The applicant hereby agrees to abide by the conditions of use that may be established by the Board, and cease using the AOLP name and logo (other than reasonable use of pre-existing print material for a period not to exceed 6 months) immediately on termination of membership for any reason. In consideration of AOLP accepting this application for membership, the named individual or company agrees to: (1) conduct their activities relative to architectural and landscape lighting in accordance with the AOLP Code of Ethics; (2) the Use of Logo terms & conditions - either as they are now or as they may be amended. I have read and agree to follow the above Code of Ethics and Use of Logo- Terms & Conditions and understand that a violation may result in a revocation of my membership.
