This property had a new backyard oasis installed in 2023. We came in after the fact, and they wanted to “light it up.” We core drilled, installed lights in walls, uprights on house and trees, and downlight. This was a challenging install because they brought us in after all the construction. It was a fun project.

Our team was presented with a unique opportunity with 2 Saw Tooth Oak trees with great branch structure, while the house sits below the branch structure. We incorporated downlights and uplights for the tree, along with uplighting the front facade of the house and path lights on stone walkway from driveway to driveway.

The family recently completed a meticulous, full-scale renovation, transforming the home into a masterpiece that rivals the opulence of a five-star hotel. Every interior detail, from custom finishes to luxurious furnishings, was thoughtfully curated to create a lavish living experience. The exterior was elevated with a striking stone facade, adding a timeless and sophisticated charm to the property.

While the builder delivered a transformative renovation, the original outdoor lighting system was retained, subtly underplaying the dramatic upgrades to the home’s exterior. With our new lighting design, the property has become a standout in the neighborhood, garnering admiration for its seamless blend of elegance, modernity, and panoramic allure. Making the list of contenders as the finest home in Kerrigan Ranch, this project exemplifies the pinnacle of residential design and renovation excellence.

Located in the suburbs of Chicago, this Lake Forest Garden was started over 45 years ago. Our design created a warm, welcoming environment allowing the clients to entertain and enjoy with their family. This was the second home we have lit for this client but the first was in a different state and an entirely different feel. A total of 97 fixtures were used to light this garden area.

This home was our client's third home for which we provided lighting. It required us to run pipping for the well lights on the front of the house and in the cobblestone driveway. We chose Sterling Lighting's well lights at 400 lumens, 40-degree optic, 3000k, and 97CRI. We then used a soft wash light on the front wall. To frame the house, we used the trees in the back on the right side.

This house is on a golf course community, so we lighted the back of the house and pool area to create a beautiful view from the angle that many people observed the house. The back of the property had a fire pit. We used down lighting from 40' in the tree. In all, we installed 85 luminaires on this project.

This lighting design was created for a stunning beach house in Mantoloking, New Jersey, with 70 feet of shoreline and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. The 8,500 square foot, 2.5-story home features private balconies and a spacious ocean deck, offering numerous opportunities for strategic lighting. The primary focus of the design was to enhance the front façade and backyard, which includes a pool and cabana, providing this expansive beachfront property with the perfect lighting to complement its beauty.

The intent was to create a resort-like atmosphere for the client. On the front façade, we highlighted the home’s beautiful siding and stonework using a mix of downlights from roof overhangs and uplights drilled into the driveway. Recessed can lights across the upper levels provided soft downlighting on the wood siding, while undermount lighting on the stair railings added a modern, resort-style touch. In the front yard, we used uplighting on trees along the driveway, gently illuminating plantings and guiding visitors to the home. In the backyard, the stair railing lights continued to offer visual security and highlight the sandy wood tones of the steps. Downlighting in the cabana expanded the living space outdoors, while mini well lights flanked the approach to the cabana, lighting the lawn and low walls. The pool was left unlit to allow the ambient light from the cabana and surrounding features to create a soft, beachy atmosphere.

Nestled on a hilltop in Genesee Colorada, overlooking highway 70 and the greater Denver area sits the iconic Sculpture House, designed by architect Charles Deaton in the early 1960s. This home presented numerous challenges for illumination and because it’s also on the U.S. national registry of historic places, it demanded a delicate touch. The homeowner wanted to improve the look of the house at night by eliminating the current PAR38 flood lights that were placed sporadically around the base of the home only smattering the underside of the lower cantilevered overhang with hot spots. These floodlights also created debilitating glare as one tried to navigate the stairs around the lower circumference of the home after dark. We opted to remove the old flood lights to clean up the architectural façade and concealed smaller luminaires around the perimeter of the structure away from the stairs to create a softer and more even level of illumination on the underside of lower white cantilever. The upper overhang on the upper deck was left to be illuminated by the interior lighting alone due to its inaccessibility and restriction from damaging the custom crushed walnut shell stucco finish. To connect the upper “saucer” section of the house with the lower support structure, micro downlights were affixed to the tops of the brown concrete columns to add visual connectivity to the structure and ground. This also provided even illumination on the staircase around the bottom of the structure. Modern looking decorative bollards in a natural rust finish were used on the spacious gathering deck and hillside stairs to add a touch of modern rustic illumination that would blend in perfectly to the natural environment around the house.

This property got a complete landscape overhaul. The homeowners called us in after that to illuminate the house and landscape. We have downlights, uplights, and wall wash lights.

This project was lighting the front of a home and several trees and sculptures. 45 fixtures were used. After meeting with the customer, we decided not to put uplighting on the home due to downlighting in the soffits. The goal here was to highlight walkways and other areas for safety and ambiance as well as lighting up metal art that the homeowner made and various trees and plants. The homeowner was very pleased with the way we focused on his art and made it come to life at night. We used well lights, up lights, wash lights and a few par36 lights to accomplish this.
